Nu nog wachten op de crackCoD 1.4 released
The long awaited patch 1.4 for Call of Duty has now been released by Infinity Ward! The patch brings us PunkBuster and a new map.
PunkBuster is a very efficient anti-cheat program that is included in the new patch. It works as follows: the game-server specifies whether or not the client (the gamer) needs to have PunkBuster enabled. If this is the case, the client can only connect when he/she has PunkBuster enabled. When PunkBuster is enabled, it scans the client's system for cheats and other malicious programs that are used to more easily win from other players. If PunkBuster finds a cheat, it reports that to the server and the server will kick/ban the player with the cheat.
PunkBuster will keep updating itself when new cheats are discovered, so the client doesn't have to do that himself (though this is possible if something goes wrong). This updating is said to not affect gameplay very much and should only take a couple of minutes at most.
The new map, mp_stalingrad, is situated in the Stalingrad area of the Single Player. It's a good rifling map, but machine guns can also be used to flank the enemy. The map seems very well balanced, as always. The Allies must defend (just like in Pavlov) and the Axis must plant the bomb at either bomb-site A or bomb-site B.
